The description for Lot 183 includes extracts from a six page letter to Naomi Mitchison dated 25 September 1954. Tolkien thanks Mitchison for her review of The Lord of the Rings and discusses the book. The final three lines of the letter are reproduced.

The letter is reprinted in full in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien (1981) as Letter 154.
