In The Fellowship of the Ring, the map showing A Part of The Shire and the map of The West of Middle-earth at the End of the Third Age have been re-drawn by an anonymous artist and appear on the endpapers.
In The Two Towers and The Return of the King, the map showing The West of Middle-earth at the End of the Third Age has been re-drawn by an anonymous artist and appears on both endpapers.
Each book also includes three full-page illustrations and illustrated chapter headings by Ingahild Grathmer – re-drawn by Eric Fraser.
