7th Impression 1973 Copies of the 7th Impression 1973 have also been seen with the previous style of dustwrapper. * Two 9th Impressions - dated 1974 and 1978 - were issued. Only the 1978 Impression is recorded in later copies. For most impressions the dustwrapper was laminated to give a gloss finish, however, some copies of the 8th and 9th Impressions (1974) lack the laminated finish. The 9th Impression 1978 saw the introduction of heavier weight paper for the text which increased the thickness of the book by about 5mm. One copy of the 13th Impression has been seen in the Mirkwood dustwrapper that appeared in 1987. |
