This edition was issued jointly under both the Allen & Unwin and Houghton Mifflin imprints, allowing copies to be sold by either company.

There were eight impressions issued in this state, all essentially similar:

4th Impression 1965
5th Impression 1966
6th Impression 1969
7th Impression 1970
8th Impression 1971
9th Impression 1972
10th Impression 1973
11th Impression 1974

Depending on the expected market, dustwrappers were printed with either:

1) A price in British Pounds
2) A price in US Dollars
3) No printed price

A large number of price-clipped copies have also been seen. Price stickers have been seen added to both unpriced and clipped dustwrappers, suggesting that at least some were clipped by the publisher.

Some copies of the 4th Impression have been seen in 5th Impression dustwrappers.
